We’re looking for a Sales Assistant, Special Markets to join our team. Abrams Books has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Special Markets Sales team as a Sales Assistant. The Sales Assistant role serves as an entry-level position within Abrams’ sales division, offering the right candidate an incredible introduction to the publishing profession. In this role you will perform sales and administrative support duties for the Executive Director of Special Sales and collaborate with the sales team on a variety of projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational and time-management skills, be curious and eager to learn, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position is a union role represented by UAW Local 2110 and is subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. What you’d be doing: • Assist with administrative support for the commissioned gift rep sales force, including processing monthly commissions, overseeing sales lead distribution, gift show preparation, and general sales reporting, • Assist with preparation and delivery of seasonal presentations, • Process and track purchase orders, sample orders and custom work orders, • Assist with administrative support for the National Accounts Sales Rep, • Oversee book ordering and order processing of author event orders and author orders, • Assist in preparation of weekly tracking reports, • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across internal departments, • Prepare and present titles to accounts on a seasonal or as-needed basis, • Assist Executive Director, Special Markets on projects as assigned We’re looking for someone who has: • 1 year of experience in sales, customer service, marketing, bookselling, or retail merchandising, • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and comfort in learning new applications and proprietary in-house systems, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, with a strong attention to detail and timely follow-up, • Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to key stakeholders, • Candidate must possess excellent time management skills, • Candidate must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects at once, • Thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment Hybrid: This position is in New York, NY and follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence three days per week. The base salary range for this position is ($40,000-$45,000) per year. The final offer will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
