Job DescriptionDescription: The Medical Receptionist will perform various duties on the phone and in person to assure the clinic has a steady and efficient system. The position requires all tasks and duties to be performed in an accurate, efficient and organized matter. TASKS AND DUTIES: β’ Welcoming patients and visitors in person or by answering the telephone, β’ Removing and placing phones from do not disturbed at their designated times, β’ Use the company electronic medical records systems to assure all patient information is up to date, β’ Check patientsβ in and out for multiple providers and specialties, β’ Guide and help patientsβ with registration and/or office forms for completion, β’ Obtaining and giving the essentials for medical procedures and testing, β’ Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information., β’ Use different websites and verification systems for insurance eligibility, β’ Collect co-pays, visit payments, billing balance via cash, checks and card payments, β’ Provide receipts for the payment methods, β’ Schedule hospital admissions, tests, scans and outside appointments for patients, β’ Obtain external medical records following company protocol, β’ Use machines to scan, fax, copy and email documents, β’ Answer and transfer incoming and outgoing calls, β’ Schedule appointments for multiple offices, providers and specialties, β’ Fill out medical forms including prior authorization and referrals, β’ Maintains office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies, β’ Schedule equipment service and repairs, β’ Other duties as assigned RESPONSIBILITIES: β’ Responsible to obtain keys to open and close offices at their designated time, β’ Providing assistance or personal care to others, β’ Evaluating information against a set of standards and verifying that it is correct., β’ Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources, β’ Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, β’ Identifying developmental needs of others and coaching or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills, β’ Monitoring and reviewing information from materials and/or events, often to detect problems or to find out when things are finished, β’ Making judgments about or assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people, β’ Translating or explaining what information means and how it can be understood by all of the related parties, β’ Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing systems, filing and records management systems, forms, and other office procedures, β’ Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and clinical programming, β’ Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar, β’ Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques ABILITIES AND SKILLS: β’ Listen and read to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words, sentences, pictures, verbal, and letters, β’ The ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and written so others understand, β’ The ability to interpret and translate into the Spanish language, β’ Correctly follow a given rule or set of rules in order to arrange things or actions in a certain order. The things or actions can include numbers, letters, words, pictures, procedures, sentences, and mathematical or logical operations., β’ Apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers., β’ The ability to remember information such as words, numbers, pictures, and procedures, β’ Time management, β’ Working with new material or information to grasp its implications, β’ The ability to teach others, β’ Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs, β’ Concentrate and not be distracted while performing a task over a period of time, β’ Exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects, β’ High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution, β’ CPR Certification, β’ Medical Office experience preferred, β’ Customer Service experience preferred Requirements: β’ Must be able to fluently speak Spanish, β’ valid drivers license
