Product and Sourcing Executive • Full time, • Hybrid (1–2 days office, central Edinburgh), • Reports to Head of Product & Sourcing, • Salary circa £25k (salary based on experience) Busy B is a well-loved Edinburgh-based stationery brand, creating beautiful diaries, calendars, notebooks and journals sold via our website, Amazon, Faire, and retailers including John Lewis and Waterstones. With sales of £2.5m, this is an exciting chance to make a real impact in a small, creative, and friendly team. As a Product & Sourcing Executive , you will provide day-to-day support to the product and sourcing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in product development, or sourcing, with a keen interest in learning how products are developed, costed, and delivered. You’ll gain hands-on experience managing supplier communication, managing product data, and supporting critical paths in a fast-paced small team environment, where flexibility and initiative are essential. We’re looking for someone highly organised, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about product development. You’ll be resourceful, software-literate, and thrive in a collaborative environment, supporting the Head of Product & Sourcing and wider team. Ideally you’ll bring 2+ years’ experience in product development, sourcing, logistics, or similar. Key Responsibilities • Support the product team with admin tasks such as raising purchase orders, updating trackers, and maintaining product databases across all systems., • Manage day-to-day communication with suppliers, ensuring accurate updates on costings, samples, and lead times., • Assist with preparing specification packs, product samples, and approvals., • Communicate with suppliers on routine queries, sample requests, and updates., • Coordinate product sample requests, approvals and shipments, • Assist with critical path management, highlighting potential delays or risks., • Conduct trend and competitor research to support new product development., • Liaise cross-functionally with design, sales and logistics teams to ensure smooth product flow., • Provide general support across the team, adapting to business needs. Skills & Experience • 1–2 years’ experience in a buying, sourcing, or product development role, • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail., • Strong communication skills with proven ability to liaise with suppliers., • Excellent Excel and data management skills; experience with Oracle Netsuite product systems is an advantage but not essential, • Highly organised, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously., • Commercially aware with an interest in market trends and consumer behaviour., • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude., • Hands-on experience with overseas sourcing, suppliers, and logistics, • Knowledge of quality standards an advantage, safety and ethical sourcing (FSC, SEDEX, GPSR) is useful but not essential Personal Attributes • Positive, flexible, and a strong team player., • Collaborative, with the confidence to take initiative in a small-team environment., • Strong attention to detail while able to see the bigger picture.
