Job DescriptionJob Title: Accounting Specialist – Bookkeeper (AR or AP Focus) Company: LHH Location: New Brighton, MN (100% Onsite) Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire Pay Range: $25–$30/hour Summary: LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in New Brighton. This role will focus on either Accounts Receivable (AR) or Accounts Payable (AP) and is responsible for a variety of financial, administrative, and clerical duties that support the company’s financial health and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a commitment to financial integrity. Experience in a manufacturing environment or with a large-scale ERP system (preferably SAP) is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities:Accounts Receivable (AR): * Prepare and send customer invoices and statements * Post daily payments (checks, credit cards, ACH, wire transfers) * Reconcile payment discrepancies and lockbox deposits * Enter invoices into customer portals and resolve PO/receipt issues * Handle customer inquiries and collection calls * Initiate credits, adjustments, and refunds * Manage uncollectible accounts and payment plans * Oversee accounts in bankruptcy proceedings * Maintain accounts on hold and communicate status * Process credit applications and contracts * Reconcile AR sub-ledgers and credit card activity * Prepare AR reports (Aging, DSO, ad hoc) * Track credit limits and terms * Support year-end audit and recommend process improvements Accounts Payable (AP): * Enter ~1,800 invoices/month into SAP * Review invoices for accuracy, coding, and approvals * Process weekly payments (ACH, wire, checks) * Handle third-party invoices and customer billing * Post vendor payments and reconcile statements * Resolve vendor issues and disputes * Reconcile corporate credit card statements * Monitor GR/IR accounts and correct variances * Prepare 1099s and maintain vendor accounts in SAP * Generate reports for cashed/uncashed checks * Maintain compliance-ready records and support audits * Recommend process improvements and automation Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred) * 5+ years of general accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing * Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) * Strong organizational and multitasking skills * Excellent verbal and written communication * Proficient in MS Office and 10-key * Ability to handle confidential information professionally * Strong customer service and team collaboration skills Benefits: * Medical, dental, vision, life insurance * Short-term disability and voluntary benefits * EAP program and commuter benefits * 401(k) plan * Paid leave (sick leave, holiday pay, and other applicable leave per law) Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour Search managed by: Breanna Hall Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
