Job Description Position Summary Under the direction of the Lead Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), who is supported by the Clinic Director, the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) shall provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children with autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, clinic, community, and school settings. The RBT will collect data on programs, assist with parent training, and assist the Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) with clinical assessments of children as needed. This role shall work in collaboration with a program supervisor, board-certified behavior analysts, and speech therapists. This can include things like interviewing patients, conducting follow-ups, and collecting data. They must also interact directly with patient clients. Roles and Responsibilities Stewardship • Provide home-based, school-based, and clinic-based support., • Track supervision hours and annually renew the RBT certification as mandated by the regulatory body to maintain the certification., • Work ethically and with integrity while following the BCAB Ethical Code., • Maintain client confidentiality, understand, and adhere to HIPAA regulatory laws, rules, regulations, and policies., • Adhere to time and attendance policies and maintain a record, in good standing, of regular and reliable attendance and punctuality, to provide quality and consistent patient care., • Adhere to Pediatric Speech Lab policies, processes, procedures, and best practices. Customer Experience • Communicate effectively with the BCBA regarding learner's progress., • Communicate appropriately and effectively with colleagues and families, as needed., • Communicate effectively with managers and leaders, and external customers. Technical Performance and Precision • Consistently implement treatment plans with reliability (under BCBAs direction) and prepare program materials, treatment protocols that include a wide variety of domains such as toilet training, communication, social, and adaptive everyday living skills., • Participate in weekly ABA meetings and trainings., • Assist younger clients as they learn appropriate social behaviors and basic life skills, • Maintain detailed records of improvements or issues., • Provide direct client care in a 1:1 setting utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements., • Answer questions and provide support or advice to the family members of our clients, • Collect and maintain accurate data and clinical notes utilizing data collection software., • Review and implement consultation/supervision note recommendations., • Participate in ongoing training, evaluations, and meetings, as required., • Assist with parent training and clinical assessments, as needed., • Assist with job-related administrative tasks, as necessary., • Perform other duties as assigned. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Data Accuracy and Timeliness: Record 95% of session data accurately and submit within 24 hours of each session, reviewed weekly by the supervising BCBA to maintain compliance and support data-driven clinical decisions., • Session Preparedness: Arrive at 98% of sessions with all necessary materials and therapy tools to facilitate seamless therapy execution, assessed through bi-weekly supervisor spot-checks., • Adherence to Behavior Intervention Plans: Maintain a 90% adherence rate to individualized behavior intervention protocols during sessions to ensure treatment fidelity, measured quarterly through direct observation and data audits., • Client Attendance and Punctuality: Achieve 98% punctuality and attendance for scheduled sessions to provide consistent service, tracked monthly through attendance records and punctuality reports., • Parent/Caregiver Communication: Provide accurate and concise updates to parents or caregivers after 95% of sessions to ensure they are informed of their child’s progress and goals, assessed monthly through feedback and supervisor evaluations., • Professional Development: Complete at least one training or continuing education session relevant to ABA therapy each quarter to enhance competencies, tracked through completion records., • Client Progress Monitoring: Achieve an 80% adherence rate to scheduled intervention programs during therapy sessions to contribute to client goal achievement, reviewed monthly via client progress reports and session data analysis. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent., • RBT certification or a commitment to become certified and maintain certification through the BACB., • Previous experience and a deep desire to work with children on the autism spectrum., • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automobile insurance, and a clean driving record are essential. Technology and Equipment • Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook., • Must have knowledge of proper data collection techniques., • Must learn how to properly submit various company and regulatory forms and documents such as requisitions and clinical data updates., • Must be skilled in using ABA-specific software for managing clinical data, treatment plans, and regulatory documentation., • Ability to operate office equipment: fax, copier, scanner, phone, and computer., • Ability to use the internet for research, communications, and training. Supervise Others • This position does not supervise others., • This position will be supervised by the BCBA. Willingness to Travel • This position may require travel to schools, daycares, and homes. Language Skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Exceptional understanding of English, both written and verbal, required., • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policies, procedure manuals, research information, review articles, and various ABA periodicals., • Ability to speak effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers., • Ability to author routine reports and correspondence., • Ability to resolve and respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal and external customers. Physical Demands • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and maintain a variety of positions to include kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, walking, or standing for extended periods of time., • Must have the manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic functions for effective data collection and communication., • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through electronic devices and on paper., • Must be comfortable working with children who may exhibit extreme behaviors., • Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment • Must be comfortable working with and around children who may be screaming, crying, yelling, or laughing., • Must show empathy and endure children showing aggressions such as hitting, spitting, kicking, and scratching., • Able to work in a fast-paced environment – and keep pace with children.
