The Strategic Marketing & Communications Engagement Coordinator Intern will assist the Marketing & Communications (MARCOMM) team in developing, coordinating, and executing high-impact initiatives, campaigns and strategies. Our ENVISION internship program is 10-weeks of programming where you will receive full-time, On-the-Job training & education (OTJTE) that will prepare you to be real-world professionals. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn essential in marketing & communication. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Strategic Marketing & Communications Engagement Coordinator Intern to join the team in our Washington, DC office for Summer of 2026. The internship requires the ability to work up to 40 hours per week, at minimum 32 hours per week during the summer with 5 hours per week devoted to professional development with opportunities for shadowing, mentoring, and training with successful professionals within the space. The internship will commence on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026 and runs until Friday, August 7th, 2026. This position will report to the Marketing Manager in a hybrid environment requiring you to come into the DC office at least 2 days per week, the rest being remote. WHAT YOU WILL GAIN | POSITION OVERVIEW The Strategic Marketing & Communications Engagement Coordinator Intern will provide creative, administrative, and project support for enterprise-wide marketing and communications initiatives that strengthen internal and external engagement and advance organizational mission and business priorities. This role supports the development, organization, and execution of campaign materials across digital platforms, including member-facing, donor, sponsorship/partnership, and brand communications. You will gain hands-on experience supporting integrated marketing campaigns, preparing visual and written content, organizing creative assets, conducting research and market analysis, and assisting with day-to-day project coordination. WHAT YOU WILL DO | ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & KEY OUTCOMES Our interns are encouraged to bring fresh ideas to the table and are quickly entrusted with foundational responsibilities such as: Marketing EngagementCollaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to prepare, organize, and support digital and print marketing materials for key organizational initiatives.Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and branding campaigns designed to increase engagement, website traffic, and brand awareness.Support execution of campaigns across key digital platforms, helping to create engaging content and reinforce brand consistency.Stay informed on design trends, marketing best practices, and emerging technologies to support fresh and effective creative output. Strategic CommunicationsSupport the development of graphics and visual assets for social media campaigns, digital outreach, presentations, and promotional materials using established templates and brand standards.Assist in the development and design of marketing and communications materials that support organizational priorities and audience engagement.Help prepare campaign materials that support donor, sponsorship/partnership, member-facing, and enterprise communications.Support the team in creating engaging content that strengthens internal and external engagement and advances the organization's mission and business priorities. Strategic Project Administration, Coordination & SupportOrganize project plans and tasks utilizing project management tools (i.e. Asana, Monday.com, or equivalent tools) to monitor project progress & milestones, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies against KPIs.Assist with day-to-day marketing and communications support, including campaign tracking, project coordination, and follow-up activities.Support coordination of project timelines, deliverables, and internal documentation related to marketing and communications initiatives.Assist with organizing and maintaining campaign asset libraries, creative files, and marketing documentation.Help track progress across active marketing projects and maintain organized records to support team efficiency and execution.Assist with production preparation and administrative support related to campaign execution.Support the coordination of various programs aimed at engaging professionals. Cross Functional CommunicationHelp centralize and clarify communications to ensure alignment among internal teams.Communicate with program participants, ensuring they have the required information and materials. WHO YOU ARE | EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIALSMust be a Undergraduate Junior, Senior, Graduate student or Recent Graduate enrolled in an accredited College or University with a GPA of 3.00 or above. The student should be pursuing/have pursued a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a relevant academic field.Prior professional and/or internship experience in marketing, communications, and/or public relations is preferred.Prior professional and/or internship experience in project coordination/management and/or nonprofits is preferred, but not required.Must be willing to commit at least 32 hours per week during business hours for the 10-week program.
