Job DescriptionJob Title: Facilities Manager (Furniture Assembly and Field Operations)Job Description This role oversees the full lifecycle of furniture assembly and related facilities support, from preparing materials in the warehouse to completing installations at client sites. You start and finish each day at the warehouse, loading company vehicles, traveling to regional locations, and assembling furniture on site in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. When not on the road, you help prepare future orders and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment. Responsibilities • Assemble furniture components from start to finish according to provided directions, drawings, and specifications., • Report to the warehouse each day to receive assignments, review materials lists, and understand project requirements., • Load company trucks with all necessary materials, tools, and equipment prior to departure for client sites., • Travel to client locations, primarily within Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, using company vehicles., • Unload trucks safely at client sites and stage materials for efficient assembly and installation., • Assemble and install furniture at universities, office locations, warehouses, and other facilities, ensuring accurate placement at designated worksite locations., • Use basic hand and power tools, including screwdrivers and drill guns, to complete assembly tasks., • Read and interpret rulers, tape measures, and other measuring equipment to ensure precise measurements., • Follow basic blueprints and written directions to complete projects correctly and on schedule., • Prepare future orders in the warehouse when not assigned to a field project, including organizing materials and staging items for upcoming installations., • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse by cleaning up work areas after loading materials and completing tasks., • Work flexibly until projects are complete, including occasional weekend work and variable end times., • Travel for additional or overnight assignments when required, following advance notice and company travel guidelines., • Adhere to all safety procedures in the warehouse and on job sites, including proper use of tools and equipment., • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project status, material needs, and any issues encountered on site.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 1 year of experience in assembly, production, or construction., • Proficiency with basic hand and power tools, including screwdrivers and drill guns., • Ability to read and use rulers, tape measures, and other measuring equipment accurately on job sites., • Ability to read and follow basic blueprints and written directions., • Capability to work both in a warehouse environment and at client sites, including frequent travel within the region., • Willingness and ability to work a first-shift schedule, typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for variable end times and occasional weekend work., • Reliability in starting and ending each day at the warehouse, regardless of field assignments., • Physical ability to load and unload materials, handle tools, and assemble furniture throughout the workday., • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly and proper placement of furniture., • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment in both warehouse and field settings.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments., • Comfort working in changing on-site conditions, including varying temperatures and building environments., • Ability to provide basic personal hand tools (such as screwdriver, drill gun, bit set, and tape measure) within the first month of employment., • Strong problem-solving skills to address on-site challenges during assembly and installation., • Effective communication and teamwork skills when working with colleagues and site contacts., • Adaptability to different types of client locations, including universities, office spaces, and warehouses.Why Work Here? Work Environment You work 100% of the time in indoor environments, split between a modern warehouse and a variety of client sites. In the warehouse, you operate in a clean, organized space where materials are stored and staged; the facility is not temperature controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. On the road, you travel in company vehicles to client sites such as universities, offices, and warehouses, where building conditions can change from project to project and are often influenced by the weather outside. You are expected to dress appropriately for varying temperatures and site conditions. The standard schedule is first shift, typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the understanding that you may work until the project is complete and occasionally on weekends. The work involves frequent use of basic hand and power tools, regular lifting and moving of materials, and ongoing attention to cleanliness and safety in both warehouse and field settings. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MILFORD, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
