Job Description RES Coal is hiring full-time Heavy Equipment Component Rebuild Mechanics to support our growing in-house component rebuild program. This is steady, year-round indoor work in a heated, well-equipped shop, rebuilding major components from one of the largest CAT mining fleets in Pennsylvania. If you take pride in precision work, clean tear-downs, and building components the right way — this is the job. If you’re the type who gets the job done and doesn’t need micromanaged, you’ll fit in here. We rebuild over 100 major components per year, and we’re expanding from a 2-bay shop with one overhead crane to a 4-bay shop with dual overhead cranes, which is why we’re growing the team. POSITION OVERVIEW This role is responsible for the complete teardown, inspection, rebuild, testing, and documentation of major components for CAT 777s, D11s, wheel loaders, excavators, and other mining-class equipment. We are currently rebuilding • Transmissions (various models), • Final drives, • Differentials, • Suspensions, struts, and cylinders, • Hydraulic pumps, • Undercarriage components SHOP ENVIRONMENT • Heated, clean, well-lit shop, • Two bays with jib cranes (expanding to four), • One 5-ton overhead crane (expanding to two), • Engine stands, presses, torque multipliers, fixtures, and proper teardown tooling, • All specialty tools, stands, rigging, and large tooling provided A TYPICAL DAY • Rebuild Manager provides priority list based on inventory and field needs, • Pull assigned core from the core building, • Bring component inside, set up safely with stands and fixtures, • Complete teardown, clean components, and inspect all internal parts, • Measure, test, and evaluate wear surfaces and tolerances, • Order required parts (or use stocked inventory), • Reassemble component to spec, • Test functionally where applicable, • Paint, tag, and place completed component in inventory, • Fill out rebuild report for documentation, • Parts Runner delivers finished component to the field and returns new cores This role has a predictable workflow with steady components year-round. PAY & SCHEDULE • $28–$36 per hour depending on experience, • Choose any 10-hour shift between 5:00 AM – 4:00 PM, • Weekends available if desired, • Day shift currently, night shift available TOOLS & SUPPORT Mechanic provided: • Full hand tool set up to 1/2” drive Company-provided: • Specialty tools, stands, fixtures, presses, pullers, • Large torque multipliers, rigging, cranes, • Model-specific tooling, • Cleaning equipment and painting supplies, • Parts Runner support, • Field Mechanic support for installation & removal MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Experience rebuilding heavy equipment components, heavy truck systems, or industrial machinery, • Ability to follow technical specifications and precision measurements, • Ability to work safely in a structured shop environment, • Strong mechanical aptitude PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience rebuilding transmissions, differentials, final drives, or hydraulic components, • Familiarity with CAT, Komatsu, or mining-class equipment, • Ability to read schematics, tolerances, and technical diagrams, • Welding/fabrication experience BENEFITS • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, • Short- and long-term disability, • Life insurance, • 401(k) with company match, • Annual performance bonus, • Tuition assistance, • Minimum two weeks PTO, • Stable, clean, indoor environment ABOUT RES COAL LLC RES Coal LLC is a subsidiary of Robindale Energy.
