DiverseGOV is recruiting a senior-level Paralegal IV to support complex fraud prosecution matters for a federal legal and law enforcement client in Detroit, Michigan. The role requires experienced litigation support, discovery management, legal research, trial preparation, document review, exhibit preparation, factual analysis, and close coordination with attorneys and case teams handling evidence-intensive criminal matters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Organize and process high volumes of data, discovery materials, legal documents, and electronic discovery files., • Support completeness of discovery productions and assist with producing discovery materials., • Compile, prepare, annotate, and summarize relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery, motions, briefs, pleadings, trial preparation, and other legal documents., • Seek and locate sources of information through contact or correspondence with federal, state, and local agencies or other sources as directed., • Gather factual material independently; review transcripts, files, agency records, court records, financial/statistical information, public records, and case documents; prepare factual memoranda and summaries., • Identify conflicting statements, gaps in the record, and areas requiring additional investigation., • Draft preliminary correspondence, assist attorneys with court pleadings, draft jury instructions and other trial documents, and conduct legal research., • Upload, organize, and analyze electronic documents and data within document review platforms; organize review folders and maintain case materials., • Redact documents and transcripts for discovery, including electronic redaction., • Prepare high volumes of exhibits and trial materials using varied media formats, including charts, visual aids, enlargement materials, marked exhibits, and courtroom presentation support., • Review, organize, and track subpoena responses and other legal process; assist with status monitoring and reporting for investigations and prosecutions. Required Qualifications • Minimum of three years of professional paralegal support experience., • Experience processing and reviewing complex discovery., • Experience assisting in trial preparation by compiling, organizing, indexing, and preparing evidentiary exhibits., • Experience reviewing legal documents to extract information related to specific issues., • Experience verifying citations and statutory references in legal documents., • Experience using computerized databases, automated legal research tools, public information sources, and document organization/review systems., • Experience conducting legal research., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access., • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the required federal background investigation., • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential investigative, legal, and client information. Preferred Qualifications • Prior support to federal legal, law enforcement, fraud, public corruption, complex criminal, civil fraud, or financial litigation matters., • Experience with eDiscovery platforms, high-volume document review, trial technology, litigation databases, electronic redaction, and courtroom presentation materials. Work Environment and Compliance Expectations • Must protect sensitive, confidential, investigative, legal, PII/PHI, and government information in accordance with contract and client requirements., • Must complete required ethics, cybersecurity, privacy, records management, and other client-directed training within required timelines after onboarding., • Must sign required nondisclosure, rules of behavior, and related federal contractor acknowledgements before accessing client systems or sensitive information., • Travel may be required within the district or occasionally outside the district when directed and approved in advance by authorized government officials.
