This role requires exceptional organizational skills, proficiency in handling voluminous document requests, and the ability to work independently while supporting our attorneys and clients throughout the litigation process. Core Responsibilities Discovery Management: • Manage all aspects of the discovery process in family law cases, including divorces, child custody disputes, alimony determinations, and related matters, • Coordinate and oversee document production requests, interrogatories, and requests for admissions, • Review, organize, and analyze voluminous financial records, bank statements, tax returns, and business documents, • Prepare comprehensive discovery responses and ensure timely compliance with court deadlines, • Maintain detailed discovery logs and tracking systems, • Assist attorneys with drafting pleadings, legal correspondence, and other case-related documents, • Handle the collection, review, and organization of discovery materials, • Maintain case files, ensure accurate tracking of incoming and outgoing materials, and manage deadlines, • Communicate with clients to request, obtain, and clarify necessary documents and information, • Prepare financial affidavits, child support calculations, and other financial discovery documents, • Analyze financial records to identify discrepancies, hidden assets, and income sources, • Assist with asset valuation and financial disclosure preparation, • E-file court documents and maintain meticulous case calendars, • Coordinate court appearances, mediations, depositions, and other legal events, • Manage document production databases and electronic discovery platforms Experience & Skills: • Minimum of 2 years of family law paralegal experience with specific focus on discovery, • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex discovery processes, • Proficiency in preparing financial discovery and child support guideline worksheets, • Strong ability to analyze financial documents and calculate income for support purposes, • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills, • Advanced proficiency with legal practice management software (Clio experience preferred), • Meticulous attention to detail, • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively, • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical responsibility, • Passion for helping families during difficult transitions, • Positive attitude and collaborative team player, • Thrives in fast-paced environments, • Proficiency with document management systems and electronic discovery platforms, • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), • Experience with e-filing systems and court portals Applicants must demonstrate ability to handle: • Large-scale document productions involving financial records, business documents, and personal files, • Electronic discovery processes including data collection, review, and production, • Discovery disputes and motion practice, • Coordinating with forensic accountants and other expert witnesses, • Managing privileged document reviews and privilege logs, • Full-time position with 8-hour shifts (Monday-Friday), • In-person at our Fort Walton Beach office, • Fast-paced, dynamic legal environment To apply for this position, please submit: • Current resume, • Cover letter, • Two letters of recommendation, • Personal essay - Explain your "Why" in family law and why The Virga Law Firm should choose you to help us represent our clients, • Responses to the following questions:, • How many family law cases have you managed simultaneously?, • Describe your experience with large-scale discovery management, • What is your available start date?, • What are your salary requirements?, • Are you currently local to Fort Walton Beach or willing to relocate?
