CEC Entertainment is seeking a Paralegal with strong general corporate background, to support our Corporate Legal department, consisting of one attorney, at our Irving, Texas Corporate Support Center. Essential Functions of the Position: GENERAL • Report directly to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel, • Support and interface with outside counsel to facilitate legal matters, • Maintain absolute confidentiality about matters handled by the legal department, • Respond to questions regarding legal matters from various departments, • Maintain customer service orientation while interfacing with stakeholders throughout the organization REAL ESTATE • Draft and review real estate amendments, default letters, renewals, estoppels, and subordination, non-disturbance and attornment agreements HUMAN RESOURCES & PAYROLL SUPPORT • Provide support to Human Resources and Payroll Department on legal issues relating to subpoenas and wage garnishments, • Assist Human Resources with investigations into employment matters LITIGATION SUPPORT • Responsible for support related to litigation (pleading and discovery review), mediation, arbitration, bill review, and responses to EEOC complaints. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY • Maintaining intellectual property including, but not limited to, files, specimen collection, reviewing trademark watch notices, and responding to requests from outside counsel. GENERAL CORPORATE • Drafting, filing, and managing various business entity documents for corporations, LLCs, and partnerships with State agencies., • Maintaining the company’s subsidiaries minute books., • Drafting correspondence and other documents. ADMINISTRATIVE • Process mail and FedEx packages, • Notarize documents Position Requirements: • 5+ years’ experience as a paralegal in a corporate legal department or law firm performing duties and responsibilities similar to those required of the position, • A 2- or 4-year degree/ Paralegal certificate, • Notary Public designation (can be obtained after hire), • Proficient with MS Office, • Positive attitude and excellent customer service mindset, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Superb attention to detail, as well as organizational, multi-tasking skills and remain focused in a deadline-driven environment with lots of moving pieces Physical Demands To perform the duties of this position, the incumbent must have the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, reach, and carry, lift, pull, push between 1 – 25 lbs. Incumbent must use a computer, with repetitive movement of both hands. Incumbent must be able to work an 8-hour shift, with occasional overtime.
