Position Summary: Asset Health Inc. is a recognized leader in the health and wellness industry, delivering results-focused, fully integrated, end-to-end wellness services and technologies that power the health of the whole person and build cultures of wellbeing. The Onsite Wellness Coach is part of a collaborative team responsible for promoting and facilitating a supportive culture of success and wellbeing for our clients. By building relationships, communicating effectively, and applying evidence-based health coaching practices, the Coach helps improve individual and organizational wellbeing by increasing confidence and competence through greater participation, engagement, completion, and satisfaction with the client’s comprehensive corporate wellness program. The Coach supports the client and its employees by cultivating behavioral and healthy lifestyle changes for participants enrolled in Asset Health’s coaching programs through participant-centered coaching, motivational interviewing, and behavior change strategies. They assess participants’ current needs and readiness to change to deliver appropriate education, support, and guidance that facilitate healthy lifestyle changes to prevent or manage chronic conditions. Additionally, the Coach assists participants with SMART goal setting, encourages progress, and helps overcome barriers that may interfere with reaching established goals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Onsite, in-person health coaching, which includes contacting eligible and enrolled participants in one or more of our coaching programs, establishing a meeting schedule that meets the needs of the participant, and ensuring all efforts are made to contact participants within client specific guidelines, • Responsible for understanding the specific wellness program and outreach guidelines of the client, • Support health promotion and wellness programs aimed at encouraging members to adopt healthy lifestyles by actively participating in wellness activities, • Provide assessment, health education, and behavior change counseling using a collaborative approach to facilitate change, • Inspire members to build healthy habits using behavior change coaching principles, • Lead with humility, charity, perseverance, relationships, engagement, and responsibility to create an inspiring, fun, and healthy work environment, • Coordinate information to clinical team partners, • Maintenance of confidentiality and privacy of protected health information (PHI) utilizing safeguards as described under the HIPAA guidelines and inputting information into multiple documentation systems, • Must stay within health coach training and scope of practice – when necessary, refer to internal client resources such as EAP or other programs and/or external resources such as health care provider., • Continual education and/or learning on health behavior change theories, counseling, interviewing techniques, strategies and application required, • Must adhere to quality of standards of Asset Health Inc. coaching programs., • Participate as a key member of the client management team responsible for planning, design, implementation, delivery and evaluation of comprehensive corporate health promotion programs including, but not limited to, health screenings, awareness events and classes, health communications, health challenges and health coaching, lifestyle interventions, health education and high-risk management programming and program analysis, • Onsite leadership and communication of the company-wide wellness incentive program, • Build relationships at the employee and leadership level, supporting investment in the wellness program, • Onsite client liaison responsibilities – in coordination with offsite client management team, • Performs other client administrative and operational tasks as requested Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Required: • A bachelor’s degree or higher in health and wellness-related field and/or current nursing license (Health education, health promotion, nutrition, exercise science/physiology, nursing, counseling, etc.), • Health education and/or wellness coaching certification from an accredited professional health/wellness coach training program, • Minimum 2 years of experience coaching on health topics such as nutrition, exercise, alcohol, tobacco cessation, stress reduction and resiliency training, weight management, cholesterol, hypertension, chronic conditions, etc. Preferred: • Health coaching certification from a National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) approved training program on health topics including nutrition, exercise, alcohol, tobacco cessation, stress reduction and resiliency training, weight management, cholesterol, hypertension, chronic conditions, etc., • 2+ years of experience working with senior level positions, • Training/education in behavior change, motivational interviewing, • Professional Working Spanish Speaker, • One or more of the following certifications: Certified Wellness Professional, Certified Personal Trainer, Registered Nurse, Registered Dietician, Tobacco Cessation Training/Certification, • In-person and telephonic coaching experience Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: • Strong interpersonal, social, and communication skills, • Ability to create strong, trusting, professional relationships with participants to encourage engagement and participation in health/wellness coaching programs, • Knowledge of the principles of behavior change, adult learning, group facilitation and of basic health, nutrition, and fitness principles, • Understanding of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention strategies, • Foster growth mindset and openness to feedback, • Excellent verbal and written communication, computer, and documentation skills required (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), • Must possess strong time management skills in order to effectively manage participants within client guidelines and ensure timely documentation, • High degree of patience, emotional control, creativity, detail, and extroversion, • Must be confident, assertive, optimistic, empathetic, and objective, • Comprehensive understanding of risk factors and behaviors that contribute to chronic disease, • Ability to work individually or in a team setting with a high energy level and minimal supervision, • Excellent computer and documentation skills required (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), • Leads with humility, charity, perseverance, relationships, engagement, and responsibility to create an inspiring, fun, and healthy work environment Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, • No manual labor or lifting, • Working Onsite at client facilities in Allentown, PA, Bethlehem, PA, Macungie, PA, and Conshohocken, PA (1-2 days/week – targeting 10 hours per week), • Valid Driver’s License, valid auto insurance and reliable transportation (auto) required
