Job Description Job Title: Quality Service Technician Job Description The Quality Service Technician plays a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of an advanced electric vehicle (EV) platform. In this position, you conduct inspections and testing, maintain accurate documentation, and provide technical support to ensure that products and services consistently meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. You work closely with cross-functional teams to uphold and continuously improve production and service processes, directly supporting customer satisfaction and long-term product reliability. Responsibilities • Perform thorough inspections and testing of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with established quality standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements., • Identify, document, and report non-conformances in a clear and timely manner, supporting root cause analysis activities and contributing to the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to mitigate quality issues., • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of quality inspections, test data, and service-related activities in accordance with internal documentation protocols and quality system requirements., • Collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and customer support teams to resolve quality concerns, share findings, and drive continuous improvement in product and process performance., • Perform product servicing and repairs, ensuring that all reworked or refurbished items meet defined quality, safety, and functional requirements before release to customers., • Conduct on-site visits to customer locations, as required, to troubleshoot technical issues, perform repairs, and validate product performance in the field., • Contribute to the development, implementation, and refinement of quality control procedures, work instructions, and initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and product reliability., • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and functionality of inspection tools, test equipment, and diagnostic instruments used in quality and service activities., • High school diploma or equivalent., • 2+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or a closely related role., • Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and quality control practices., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and schematics., • Hands-on experience with testing and inspection equipment such as calipers, multimeters, and micrometers., • Proficiency in performing quality inspection and visual inspection of components and finished products., • Ability to accurately document inspection results, test data, and non-conformances., • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving and root cause analysis., • Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineering, production, and customer support teams., • familiarity with electric vehicle (EV) platforms, batteries, or drivetrains., • Experience supporting field service activities, including on-site troubleshooting and repairs., • Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives within a production or service environment., • Ability to contribute to the development and refinement of quality control procedures and documentation. Work Environment The role is based within a commercial electric vehicle (EV) environment focused on developing and supporting a first-of-its-kind EV platform for medium-duty EVs and hybrids. You work closely with EV, battery, and drivetrain experts in a setting that emphasizes technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. The environment involves regular use of inspection tools, test equipment, and diagnostic instruments, as well as collaboration with engineering, production, and customer support teams. The facility operates as a modern production and service site where safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to established procedures are central to daily operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sturgis, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
