Commercial Director Cambridgeshire Up to £105,000 Bonus & Benefits Are you a commercially minded leader who knows how to build strong customer relationships, win new business, and shape long-term commercial strategy? This is a senior leadership opportunity with a well-established manufacturing business in Cambridgeshire, offering the chance to influence direction, lead multiple teams, and drive sustainable growth. We’re supporting a growing, privately owned business as they appoint a Commercial Director to take full ownership of their commercial strategy, sales activity and customer engagement. It's a role with genuine scope, visibility, and the ability to make a real dent in the growth trajectory. The Opportunity As Commercial Director, you’ll sit on the senior leadership team and take responsibility for: • Developing and implementing a best-in-class commercial strategy that aligns with wider business goals., • Leading the Sales, Business Development and Customer Service functions to deliver strong customer relationships and profitable growth., • Managing the end-to-end new business process from initial enquiry through to negotiation and contract award., • Building a healthy pipeline of products, customers and opportunities to meet long-term company targets., • Setting clear objectives, supporting development and managing performance for your direct reports., • Owning and negotiating commercial pricing to ensure profitability remains front and centre., • Reviewing performance vs target and taking decisive action where needed., • Developing strong multi-level relationships with both existing and potential customers., • Collaborating closely with Marketing to shape compelling campaigns and customer engagement activity., • Maintaining strong awareness of industry trends, competitor activity and market shifts. About You You’ll bring a mix of commercial acumen, leadership strength and strategic thinking, including: • Experience developing and executing commercial strategies that deliver real results., • Strong command of budgeting, forecasting, P&L and financial planning., • A background in leading sales or commercial teams., • Ability to analyse market trends, customer behaviour and competitive landscapes., • Proven success in securing new business and developing long-term partnerships., • Experience in identifying and mitigating commercial risks., • A leadership style that balances strategic direction with hands-on support. Qualifications & Experience • Extensive experience in commercial management, sales, marketing or business development., • Minimum 3 years in a senior leadership role., • Demonstrable track record in driving revenue and profit growth., • Experience leading product innovation or development initiatives., • Background working collaboratively with Operations, Finance, NPD and other cross-functional teams.
