As part of this evolution BCHG is seeking to appoint a Business Intelligence & Insights Specialist to deliver insightful reporting, analytics and benchmarking that enable informed decision‑making and continuous improvement across the organisation\n\nBCHG are a social business delivering quality homes and care. They help thousands of customers every year making a real difference to their lives.\n\nAt Black Country Housing Group, their values are not just a set of words, but are at the heart of the way their organisation works and how employees interact in their day-to-day activities.\n\nDescription\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDashboarding, Reporting & Automation\nDesign, build and maintain BCHG's suite of dashboards, performance packs and automated reporting products using Power BI and aligned tools.\nDevelop high quality KPI dashboards for Board, Executive, SLT and service teams.\nEnsure reporting is consistent, governed and aligned with BCHG's KPI Catalogue.\nWork with the Data Governance Manager to apply standards, definitions and quality controls to reporting and dashboards.\nMonitor reporting SLAs, refresh schedules and usage analytics to optimise adoption.\nExtract, gather, manipulate and interrogate data from multiple sources and present it in a clear, usable format to inform decision‑making across the organisation.\n Data Modelling & Insight Production\nAnalyse trends, patterns and performance drivers across multiple data sets, including but not limited to arrears, repairs, voids, complaints, satisfaction, compliance, assets, HR and financial indicators.\nBuild analytical models to explore relationships, hotspots and opportunities for improvement.\nDevelop scenario‑planning tools (e.g., void turnaround, EPC uplift, service demand forecasting).\nPrepare, cleanse and structure data from multiple sources to create reliable, reusable analytical datasets.\n Benchmarking & Comparative Insight\nProduce benchmarking dashboards reports comparing BCHG to peer providers and national datasets.\nIdentify performance variations and develop insight‑led recommendations.\nWork with the Data Governance Manager to advise SLT and Heads of Service on improvement opportunities.\n Advanced Insights & Added Value Analysis\nConfigure thresholds, alerts and data‑driven notifications within dashboards.\nConduct deep‑dive analysis on emerging issues, service risks or strategic questions.\nSupport the creation of predictive, scenario‑based and AI‑enabled analytical outputs as the organisation's data maturity develops.\n ROI, Social Value & ESG Support\nProduce financial and non‑financial benefit analysis for strategic or operational programmes.\nSupport the development of BCHG's ESG reporting, including environmental, social and governance metrics.\n Stakeholder Engagement & Support\nWork collaboratively with service areas to understand analytical needs.\nPresent findings in workshops, meetings and training settings.\nBuild organisational confidence in reading and interpreting data.\nOperate with a high degree of professional judgement, influencing how data and insight is used across the organisation. \n\nProfile\n\nSkills & Experience\n\nEssential\n\nStrong Power BI skills including data modelling, DAX and visual design.\nAdvanced Excel capability (modelling, Power Query).\nExperience producing dashboards, insight reports and analytics.\nAbility to translate complex data into clear, actionable messages.\nAbility to communicate effectively with Board and Executive committee members and produce high quality reports for various internal departments and external / 3rd party bodies\nAwareness of data protection, data ethics and assurance considerations when handling sensitive operational and customer data.\nStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.Desirable\n\nExperience querying and shaping data using SQL or similar tools to support robust analytical models.
