APQP Project Engineer Location: Oldbury Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (DOE) Hours: 39.5 per week (Mon-Thurs 8:00-16:45, Fri 8:00-13:30) Contract: Permanent Join a Leading UK Engineering & Manufacturing Organisation Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are delighted to be recruiting an APQP Project Engineer for a highly successful and growing manufacturing business based in Oldbury. Operating across multiple sectors including Automotive, Defence, Medical, Transport, Electronics and more, this organisation is known for delivering high quality engineered solutions and operates to ISO 9001 standards while progressing toward IATF accreditation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced APQP professional to take ownership of automotive project quality, lead cross functional activities, and play a key role in ensuring successful product launches. The Role As the APQP Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading all phases of APQP and PPAP activity for automotive customers. You'll work closely with engineering, operations, quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification, and in line with industry standards. Key Responsibilities APQP & PPAP Management Lead and coordinate all APQP phases in line with IATF 16949 and AIAG guidelines Create and maintain APQP documentation including Process Flows, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA and capability studies Prepare and submit PPAP packages, ensuring approval prior to SOP Cross Functional Collaboration Work closely with engineering, operations, quality, sales and customers Facilitate gate reviews, problem solving workshops and cross functional meetings Support supplier readiness and supplier APQP activities Risk Identification & Mitigation Conduct risk analysis using FMEA, 8D and other quality tools Drive corrective actions and improvement plans Monitor and report project milestones and timing plans Launch Support Support prototype builds, pilot runs and production validation Participate in process audits, run at rate and capability assessments Feed continuous improvement and lessons learned into future programmes Experience Required Strong working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC and Control Plans Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality management systems Ability to interpret CAD, engineering drawings and GD&T Experience within an Automotive Tier 2 environment is desirable Skills & Attributes Strong initiative and problem solving ability Excellent communication and time management skills Customer focused approach Confident using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Apply today through Hawk 3 Talent Solutions to find out more.
