Job Description Project Engineer (T3) Pegasus Technologies, LLC Position Summary The Project Engineer (T3) at Pegasus Technologies is a highly technical, client-facing role responsible for architecting and executing complex IT solutions while also serving as a Tier 3 escalation resource. This role leads initiatives such as server and infrastructure upgrades, cloud and email migrations, new client onboarding, MFA/security implementations, and modern endpoint management, ensuring successful delivery from planning through execution. In addition to project delivery, this role provides advanced escalation support and serves as a subject matter expert across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune. Key Responsibilities Project Design & Implementation • Lead technical aspects of assigned projects, coordinating with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved., • Design and deliver end-to-end IT solutions including:, • Microsoft 365 and Azure migrations, • Server and infrastructure upgrades, • Email migrations (Exchange, third-party platforms), • Intune and endpoint management deployments, • MFA and security implementations, • Execute project plans including configuration, deployment, and validation, • Onboarding of new clients, ensuring smooth and efficient integration into our managed services, • Collaborate with Project Coordinators to manage timelines, task tracking, and project logistics, while maintaining ownership of technical execution and delivery, • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at a high level of quality Cloud Architecture & Implementation • Serve as the Azure and Intune Subject Matter Expert (SME) across the organization, • Architect, implement, and support:, • Azure IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments, • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), identity governance, and Conditional Access, • Intune MDM/MAM deployments and endpoint security baselines, • Lead the deployment of cloud and endpoint solutions ensuring alignment with design, security, cost optimization, and best practices, • Provide architectural & technical guidance to:, • Professional Services (project design and execution), • Technical Services (escalation support and standards), • Sales and vCIO teams (solution design & recommendations), • Identify and drive improvements in cloud modernization, security posture, and cost optimization (right-sizing, licensing, spend reduction) Escalation Support (Tier 3) & Collaboration • Act as a Tier 3 escalation resource across:, • Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, and hybrid environments, • Networking, firewalls, VPNs, and infrastructure, • Identity, authentication, and security, • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues across client environments, • Support on-call technicians as needed for high-level escalations, • Mentor and guide junior technicians, fostering skill development, • Maintain strong adherence to SLA and service delivery expectations, • Collaborate closely with the Professional Services Manager and the Project Coordinator to develop timelines, monitor progress, and overcome challenges., • Stay current with industry trends, current technology, and emerging best practices in technical support, and share knowledge with the team., • Other duties as assigned. Documentation & Process Improvement • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including design diagrams, deployment guides, architecture, configurations, and policies., • Contribute to post-project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives, • Contribute to internal standards, SOPs, and best practices, • Ensure consistency across client environments and internal standards Automation & Optimization • Automate tasks using PowerShell, Azure Automation, and scripting tools, • Improve operational efficiency across cloud, endpoint, and infrastructure management Technical Qualifications • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments), including architecture, deployment, and ongoing management, • Advanced administration of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams, • Deep experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including identity governance, Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC, and security best practices, • Advanced Microsoft Intune (MDM/MAM) experience, including device enrollment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, and endpoint security baselines, • Strong experience with Windows Server (2012–2025) across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments, • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and hybrid identity integrations, • Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and secure WAN configurations, • Experience with virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware, • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and systems management; familiarity with Azure CLI and automation tools preferred, • Experience with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity strategies, • Strong understanding of endpoint security, threat protection, and modern security practices, • Experience with email migrations (Exchange and third-party platforms) and Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem infrastructure environments, • Strong systems-level troubleshooting skills, including logs analysis, performance tuning, and root cause identification, • Familiarity with RMM and PSA tools and working within a ticket-driven service environment Experience Requirements • 7+ years of IT experience in an MSP or similar environment, • Proven experience delivering end-to-end technical projects, • Strong background in cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments, • Experience in a client-facing, fast-paced service environment Education & Certifications • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator, or relevant security/cloud certification, • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a functioning cell phone, • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background check Soft Skills & Core Competencies • Strong customer service and client communication skills, • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users, • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking, • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, • High attention to detail with a security-first mindset, • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams, • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement Work Environment & Expectations • Hybrid role involving both project and support responsibilities, • Occasional travel to client sites, • After-hours work required for project cutovers and escalations, • Availability to support critical escalations outside standard hours Why Join Pegasus Technologies At Pegasus Technologies, you’ll work with a high-performing team delivering cutting-edge solutions across cloud, security, and infrastructure.
