IT Operations Manager | Birmingham (Office-Based) | Salary to £54,000 + £4,800 Car Allowance + Expenses | Permanent We are seeking an experienced IT Manager / IT Group Manager / IT Infrastructure Lead / IT Operations Lead to take on a hands-on leadership role overseeing IT operations, CRM platforms, telephony, infrastructure, and business systems across a growing UK Group. This is a primarily office-based position in Birmingham, with occasional travel to UK branches. Ideal for someone who thrives in a leadership role that blends strategy, hands-on technical expertise, and operational ownership. About You: • Strong hands-on experience with CRM and insurance systems (Acturis, Open GI, SSP)., • Experience with Monday.com and consultancy-focused CRMs., • Proven background in IT operations, infrastructure, and telephony (VoIP)., • Confident managing workflows, automation, integrations, APIs, and data tools (Excel, SQL)., • Understanding of cyber security, compliance, AI policy, and due-diligence requirements., • Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders., • Willingness to travel to UK branches when required., • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent)., • Certifications in CRM platforms, VoIP/telephony, ITIL, or cyber security beneficial., • Hands-on, proactive technical leader., • Detail-driven with a strong quality mindset., • Collaborative, solution-focused approach., • Ownership of systems, data, compliance, and operational performance., • Flexible and able to travel to UK sites when required. It will be a bonus if you were familiar with the following: • Knowledge of business systems (finance, HR, payroll, training tools)., • .NET, SQL Server, or similar enterprise environments., • Experience supporting regulated businesses with audits and compliance. Role Overview: As the IT Operations Manager, you will ensure the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of the Group’s systems, including CRMs, telephony, business platforms, and IT infrastructure. You will work closely with different divisions, supporting and optimising systems such as Acturis, Open GI, SSP, and Monday.com, while ensuring business continuity, compliance, data integrity, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Configure, maintain, and optimise CRM workflows, forms, and automation., • Build and support new insurance/broking schemes within CRMs., • Provide specialist support for Acturis, Open GI, SSP, and Monday.com., • Manage CRM integrations with finance, marketing, and training platforms., • Drive system improvements, automation, and operational efficiency., • Deliver user training and act as the internal CRM subject-matter expert., • Administer VoIP platforms, call routing, hunt groups, licensing, and reporting., • Support telephony onboarding/offboarding and device management., • Liaise with providers to resolve issues and implement enhancements., • Act as first-line technical lead for system, application, telephony, and infrastructure issues., • Provide hands-on support for servers, networks, and endpoint devices., • Maintain accurate licence and asset records., • Support upgrades, migrations, acquisitions, and integration projects., • Provide on-site support across UK branches when needed., • Support compliance initiatives and regulatory adherence., • Assist with development and implementation of AI policies., • Provide documentation for due diligence, audits, and regulatory requests., • Support cyber awareness, endpoint security, and related controls., • Manage relationships with CRM, telephony, and infrastructure vendors., • Coordinate external testing, upgrades, and solution implementations.
