Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home (EBD & LD) Birmingham | £55,000 – £70,000 + Performance Bonus | Full-Time | Permanent Are you an experienced Registered Manager with a proven Ofsted track record? We are looking for a passionate and driven leader to manage a children's residential home in Birmingham. Both EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties) and LD (Learning Disabilities) settings are available — choose the environment that best matches your expertise. This is one of the most competitive packages in the sector, with a salary up to £70,000 plus a performance bonus scheme that rewards outstanding leadership and Ofsted outcomes. THE ROLE As Registered Manager, you will hold full Ofsted registration responsibility for the home, ensuring compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards. You will lead a dedicated team to deliver outstanding care for children and young people with complex needs. Key responsibilities: • Hold full Ofsted registration and ensure all regulatory requirements are met, • Lead, manage, and develop your residential staff team, • Achieve and maintain a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating, • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and placement documentation, • Embed robust safeguarding practices throughout the home, • Build positive relationships with placing authorities, social workers, and families, • Manage budgets, staffing rotas, and day-to-day operations, • Champion the physical, emotional, and educational wellbeing of every child WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Essential requirements: • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) — mandatory, • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager in a children's residential setting, • Demonstrable Ofsted inspection experience with positive outcomes, • Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards, • Experience supporting children with EBD, LD, SEMH, or complex needs, • Thorough understanding of safeguarding and multi-agency working You will be: • A calm, decisive, and resilient leader, • Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children, • Skilled at motivating and developing staff teams, • Organised, thorough, and confident with compliance and documentation SETTINGS AVAILABLE EBD Setting — supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. Experience in trauma-informed and therapeutic residential practice is highly valued. LD Setting — supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions. Experience in positive behaviour support and specialist LD care is essential.
