Key Responsibilities: This is a highly demanding but rewarding role covering a wide range of responsibilities: • Working collaboratively and flexibly as part of the CT communications team to ensure key activity is delivered in a timely, effective manner and supports the improvement of our culture., • Managing the delivery of engaging communication material for our communication channels - whether it is through internal events, blogs, or via other delivery methods, using a combination of communication skills and a collaborative approach., • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with CT senior leaders and colleagues across the Department to support effective communications., • Providing a professional first point of contact for enquiries, advice and information to stakeholders both within and outside of the Department and working with teams across CT to provide accurate relevant responses., • Working with teams across CT to generate content and communication updates and setting a clear context and rationale for what is needed and by when. Creation and delivery of virtual events such as Our Call and ad hoc face to face events. Manage event logistics (virtual and live) ensuring that all events are delivered to a high standard., • Providing content for both routine and ad hoc requests across CT and for the Director General and ensuring that this is tailored to the needs of the audience and is factual, accurate and consistent with Departmental steers. Creation and delivery of content, including building and maintaining SharePoint pages, Teams channels and weekly emails. Person specification Essential Criteria: • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an understanding of audience and context, and a strong attention to detail. Proven experience in a communications role or similar. (Lead Criteria), • Highly competent at building relationships and engaging professionally and confidently with stakeholders at all levels. Confidence and ability to work with senior stakeholders, including the Director General, and Directors., • Excellent planning, prioritisation and communication skills. The ability to assimilate large volumes of information quickly and present this via the appropriate communication channel and with an understanding of the wider context, spotting risks and opportunities., • A track record of successfully delivering a range of activities with competing deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality. You have strong problem-solving skills, respond flexibly to change and you can deal with uncertainty., • The ability to work effectively across and beyond team boundaries, making connections to enable collaborative planning and delivery., • A positive self-starter with the flexibility and resilience to adapt quickly to new demands, and lead and work effectively with others to deliver a high-quality outcome under pressure, ensuring the accuracy of information., • Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Planner).
