Job Title: Children’s Registered Manager Location: Birmingham, West Midlands Salary: £70,000 per annum Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Reports to: Director of Operations / Responsible Individual About the Role We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead and manage a children’s residential home in Birmingham. The successful candidate will ensure that the highest standards of care and compliance are delivered in line with Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards. This is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, staff management, safeguarding, and ensuring outstanding outcomes for the children and young people in our care. Key Responsibilities • Provide effective leadership and management of the residential home in accordance with company policies, Ofsted requirements, and statutory regulations., • Promote a safe, nurturing, and child-centred environment that supports the emotional, social, and educational development of children and young people., • Ensure all safeguarding and child protection procedures are rigorously followed., • Manage and develop a skilled staff team through supervision, training, and performance management., • Oversee care planning and placement management to ensure individual needs are met and outcomes are achieved., • Maintain accurate records, reports, and audits in line with regulatory and internal standards., • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring continuous improvement towards “Good” or “Outstanding” outcomes., • Work collaboratively with external professionals including social workers, local authorities, and education providers., • Manage budgets, resources, and occupancy levels effectively. Essential: • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)., • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a children’s residential care setting., • Proven track record of managing or deputising within a children’s home rated “Good” or “Outstanding” by Ofsted., • Strong understanding of safeguarding, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards., • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills., • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing staff team., • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle., • Experience opening or registering a new children’s home with Ofsted., • Therapeutic care training or knowledge of trauma-informed practice., • Competitive salary of £70,000 per annum, • 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays), • Pension scheme, • Comprehensive training and development opportunities To apply, please send your CV and a covering letter outlining your relevant experience and why you are suited to the role to .
